How to have effective meetings? One key question that many people ask themselves is how to interrupt talkers nicely? We don't want to offend the person, yet we need to get our points across. A key tip is to structure the outcome beforehand which means think about the outcome and not about the task. In a lot of meetings, you get an agenda which is very topic orientated. Ask yourself first what outcome would you like to achieve? Think about the outcome instead of just describing the topic. Effective Communication: Understanding Different Styles for Better Connections
Why do some people make decisions so easily and others are very indecisive? Here's what the research says: A group of researchers who have looked into dividing people into action-orientated people so those who make decisions and those who are more state-orientated more concerned about their emotional state and they are more indecisive. What was the difference between the two groups? The only thing that was really different was their confidence. The action-orientated people were more confident in their decision. The state-orientated people were not so confident despite the fact that the decision might have been the same quality.
